The PRONTO® technology is the subject of US patent 5,710,028, European patent 064822 and corresponding national patents.

Each well of a PRONTO® Plate contains 5’ -labeled primers that hybridize to the tested DNA next to the suspected mutation sites, and biotinylated nucleotides (bio-dNTPs), which are complementary to the nucleotide bases at the tested sites. Depending on the tested individual’s genotype, the relevant primers are extended and thus become labeled with biotin.
Pronto Diagnostics holds the exclusive license for international patents covering molecular testing for mutations in the Pyrin gene (MEFV) for the diagnosis of FMF in Armenia, Turkey, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
