Pronto Diagnostic’s clinical molecular diagnostic service laboratory, ProntoLabTM,has accreditation from the Israel Ministry of Health. Pronto also has the ISO 9001:2008 certification for Developing and Marketing of Molecular Diagnostic Products and Services.
ProntoLabTM has announced that it has managed to reduce the price for a number of tests it currently offers, including sequencing of the BRCA1&2 genes, sequencing of CFTR and all MLPA tests.
A new test offered by Pronto is the Septin9 blood test for the early detection of colorectal cancer. This is a simple blood test for the patient to undergo and as a result of its high accuracy, it can replace the stool test and can be used by doctors to decide whether a colonoscopy is essential or not.
A simple genetic test (undertaken with a sample of blood or saliva) can prevent an unnecessary biopsy in family members of those with Celiac Disease and can be used as a test to restrict the number of subjects who must undergo further investigations. It is less distressing to the patient than repeated small bowel biopsies and can be undertaken at any time and any age. It is particularly recommended for young children.
Sequencing available of the mutated gene in a carrier’s spouse (e.g. in Cystic Fibrosis) in order to evaluate the risk of children being born with CF.
New! QF-PCR test for prenatal detection of Down’s Syndrome and other chromosome aneuploidies. Results available within 2 days.
Pronto is offering a test for DMD (Duchenne muscular dystrophy) screeningusing MLPA technology. When the test is carried out on the mother's DNA the chance of preventing a sick child decreases by 60%. When the test is carried out on the fetus DNA (from amniotic fluid), the chance of preventing a sick child is 85%.
